Making movies isn't easy. After all the time preparing, the money spent, the coordination with cast and crew, the collaborative team effort - sometimes the final result is downright depressing. The worst part? There’s plenty of people out there who gleefully shout from the cheap seats, "You Suck"! But taking inspiration from indie film juggernauts Jay and Mark Duplass, the team here at Pathetic Productions has "a fundamental desperation to make things". That’s what this website is - our showcase of the journey to improve as filmmakers. So not everything is going to be Spielberg or Bong Joon-Ho....

 

The fact is, some of the things we make aren't very good - many are even pathetic. But by joining forces with folks who share this common desperation to unapologetically express their creative ideas, we've found that once in a while we arrive at something decent. Those fleeting moments of (perceived) success are what make our pathetic dreams worth it. We hope you enjoy. If not, feel free to tell us how much we suck. We’re used to it.
